Tablescape Thursday --

"Our prayer and God's mercy are like two buckets in a well; while the one ascends the other descends."

Hello Everyone out there in blogland!!!!

My blog is still very new and my participation in Tablescape Thursday is new also. In fact, creating tablescapes is new to me. I was really excited when I visited a small antique shop last week. If consists two small buildings.  One is a small shed filled with primitive items. The other is a small house that holds glassware and many breakables.

As a new tablescaper, I am amazed by everyone's dishes and being the horder collector I am,  a set of blue dishes jumped out at me. They are not old, they are not real fancy, but they caught my eye. I thought they were a steal and then they were marked down 25% also. It is a four piece serving for 8 but one of the large plates were missing. If anyone spots one of these plates one of your "outings", please let me know. I would like to replace it and have a full set.

I have spent the last couple of days transforming our home from    Christmas land to a winter wonderland.

So here is a look at my winter tablescape . . .

Be sure to visit with Susan at Between Naps on the Porch to see many more beautiful tables.

I am curious to know - Do those of you who make all of those beautiful tablescapes leave them on your table until you make the next one or do you take them off and only have a table arrangement?
Inquiring minds want to know. I'd love for each of you to leave a comment and let me know what you do.

Until next time . . .

Take Care and God Bless.

Great tablescape-love the blue dishes. Yes, I leave my table set all the time (we never eat at our table!) I love it because the whole house seems decorated and the piles of junk that used to accumulate on the dining room table are gone!

Hi, Thanks for leaving the nice comment on my blog regarding my kitchen. I was pleasantly surprised with your tablescape and the blue place settings. You have inspired me to join Tablescape Thursday sometime soon and try to find some blue plates too. Have a wonderful day! Lisa

P.S. I see you're from Arkansas. My brother and his family live there and it's gorgeous, love it. Memphis area.

Your table is lovely...I like the cobalt blue! Yes, I leave my tablescapes out all week. My husband works rotating schedules so we rarely use that table. Welcome to the blogging world...you will love it!

Your table is so pretty. I can see why you fell in love with the dishes. The blue is stunning!! And you can also mix these up with other colors as well!! Lovely.

I wish I could leave my table set (I am always jealous of those that can set a holiday or company table the night before~what a time saver!), but I have more of an eat in kitchen/dining nook that is always in use...and not just for eating!!! I have always thought to do two tablescapes and photograph them so I have 2 weeks worth in one afternoon, but still haven't gotten around to that. Maybe someday!

Well! Not to shabby for a first time effort. I think your a natural! :) This is so cute and I just love your bargain set of dishes. I haven't seen anything like them before. In answer to your question.... I usually just do TT when I have a dinner or people over. So I end up taking it all apart after.

Very pretty table! Love those blue dishes. those are great for mixing and matching for other tablescapes! the whole table came out lovely!

I don't have another table in our home, so the place settings get put away. The centerpiece often stays the same for several days. I would love to have another table so I could leave it up. but, in our home, that isn't possible.

Vivian, love your winter 'blues' table! You will find you can mix and match them with just about any color and have it look great. Love the snowmen...so cute.
I very seldom leave the table set...we usually eat dinner with the TT dishes Wednesday nights...that is the one night, just the two of us, eat in the dining room!

Welcome to TT! So glad you joined in. I can see why you were attracted to those blue dishes, they are beautiful! All of your accessories and centerpiece go so well with them too. I really like your tablescape!

My dining room table is always set "ready for a party"! It takes me days to "tweak" my tablescapes so I leave them up adding and subtracting various items until I get it "right". I just set up a new 'scape this week (haven't done pics yet) and we ended up sitting there with some friends for an apres-ski order-in pizza! It was perfect to sit at a nice table and not have to cook!

Oh I hope you find your other blue plate! Love those tea cups. When I tablescape in the dining room -- I leave it up all week -- when it's in the kitchen I use it or clear it, because that's where we eat.

Wonderful tablescape! I can see why you bought those blue dishes; they are fabulous! I love them! I like the blue color with the gold chargers and the flatware together; a very lovely color combination and one of my favorites.

I have very recently joined TT myself, even though I've been setting up tablescapes for years and years for parties and dinners etc. I never realized how many others were like me!
I usually set up my tablescapes just to take the pictures and then I put everything away, but I am usually re-creating a tablescape that I have used in the past. Or, when I have a new idea, I set it up when I can get the best lighting; so mine aren't necessarily always created or set up for an actual meal, but sometimes they are!
