Mosiac Monday -- Mt. Magazine Lodge

Thank you Mary at Little Red House for hosting Mosiac Monday.

My husband and I decided to drive up to the top of Mt. Magazine to see the lodge. I was hoping it would still be lit up and decorated for Christmas. Unfortunately, it was not.  I'm not sure if I missed it or if they didn't decorate.

The only pictures I got were parts of the back side of the lodge and the waterfall out front. I'll go back another day and take more pictures so everyone can see it. People come from all over the United States to stay in the lodge or in one of the cabins located on the property. They also have outdoor caming and RV set ups.

We thought about dining at the restaurant that is inside the lodge, but discovered the roads were icy in spots. Mt. Magazine is the highest point in Arkansas so I was afraid it would snow more and the roads would ice over while we ate.  So . . . we came back home and ate in town.

Although the lodge is only 15 miles from our home, the weather is always different there. If there is snow or ice in town it will be a whole lot worse on the mountain. And although we didn't have any ice or snow in town there was a little bit on the mountain.

Until tomorrow . . .

Take care and God Bless.

What a beautiful mosaic and scenery. Isn't it something, I've lived in Arkansas my whole life and never heard of Mt. Magazine. I've got to check in on this.

What a lovey waterfall! It would be frozen ice here in Ohio, so I enjoy seeing running water somewhere this time of year!
Oh I simply ignore my Christmas Cautus and somehow it lives and about twice a year it blooms, although, never as pretty as yours!
