Outdoor Wednesday

"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever."
                                                                                                                            Psalm 23:6

I am participating in

Well, we were off from school for two weeks for Christmas break and I wanted snow the whole time and we did not receive any. Then when we were scheduled to go back Monday, we got a smidgen of snow--enough to cause buses not to be able to run so we had a snow day.

Now the temperatures are slipping down to the single digits and I am dreaming of warm, sunshiny weather that can soothe the soul. There is not going to be any relief in sight this week (snow is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday) so I will get my warmth by sharing pictures I took this summer.

I took this picture at a Shoal Bay Park. I do not know these two young men, but I thought they made a great picture.

Gander Goose was basking in the sun but got a little hot so he waddled over to the shade.   There are always geese at this park and they will come pretty close to the camp sites. They can also be very noisy at times.  Isn't it great.

Sammy the Squirrel is well camouflaged in the grass.  These little guys will come right up to you. They get into your trash, walk around on the tables, and have been known to parade around on top of the RV's.

Loved the freshness and serenity this picture offers.

Well, I hope everyone is a little warmer and ready to tackle the cold, snowy weather so many of you have had in the past few weeks.

Be sure to stop by A Southern Daydreamer to see other wonderful outdoor pictures.

Until next time . . .

Take care and God Bless.

Beautiful! Dreaming of warmer weather here too, it's been much colder than normal. I just bought a wall calender for my office with ocean and beach scenes - we can dream! Love the shots of the goose. The geese in our park are not nearly this handsome! Have a wonderful week. Kathy

Beautiful nature pictures, Vivian!! I love the fat geese paddling away!! Now, they love the cold. Have you gotten used to it yet?? December was the snowiest month in Chicago in the last 40 years!! I don't think I noticed because our weather is always changing!!

Happy Outdoor Wednesday!! :-)

Hi, Vivian! What lovely pictures. I always love pictures of animals, and I love to see them frolic.

I've been hearing about the snow across the Deep South. We are even cold here in Florida. I'm praying for all the citrus farmers and strawberry farmers, too, as well as the tropical plant nurseries, etc. It is supposed to be cold all the way to Miami this week. So please keep us in your prayers. I always feel protective for the businesses this could potentially effect.

I read that you're from Arksansas. My cousin's wife was from a tiny town there outside of Pine Bluff. Her mother just died after building a little place on the Arkansas River, and now they are enjoying her place as a second home. My cousin-in-law's sister lives in Little Rock. So I am familiar with your area. It's beautiful. My cousin was a Presbyterian minister in Little Rock many, many years ago. They have lived all over the South.

All good wishes for a Happy Outdoor Wednesday...

XO,

Sheila :-)

Great pics! I think it is funny school closed for a tiny bit of snow. When I was still teaching there were many days it took me 2 hours to get there in the snow! Very stressful for sure.
My district rarely closed..once we were the only district on LI to be open! :(
