Tour of Guest Bedroom

Our guest bedroom is really quite simple at this time. It will be the next room in our home to vamp up. Right now it has a small flowered wall paper. We will be painting.

Here is the sleigh bed we purchase just a few weeks ago from Furniture Factory Outlet. I think we got a great deal and it looks wonderful with the new wood laminate floor we installed a few weeks ago.

This antique dresser came from Mr. Paramedic's maternal grandmother. We plan to refinish it when the weather warms up.  Somehow we lost the mirror off of it when we moved 5 years ago. I hope to find a replacement in the next few months.  Then we can refinish both pieces at one time. The display on the dresser is pulled together from items I've had for years.

This cedar chest belonged to another grandmother from Mr. Paramedics side of the family. I found this beautiful table runner last month in Branson, Mo.

As you can probably tell by looking at earlier posts, I love collecting Santas and Snowmen. I purchased these two snowman at a store in Branson also. When I brought them in the house, I decided they would fit perfectly in this room, especially with the red quilt on the bed. I hope guests will feel at home sitting here in front of the windows catching up on their spiritual readings. The wing chairs are from husband's grandma.

I made this little tabletop quilt last winter after Christmas. I then put it up and didn't realize that it went so well with the Christmas quilt I also made last winter until I got it out last month. In fact, I didn't realize it until I started photographing the quilts for an earlier post.

I would love to hear from anyone with a suggestion of a wall color. The master bedroom next to it is an olive green (not sure of the exact color name). The living room walls are a nutmeg and the kitchen walls are red.

Take care and God Bless.

Design Wall

My design wall at the present time is my living room floor. It is too cold in my sewing room and I don't want to turn on the butane stove. So . . . I am sewing in my living room.

This is a quilt I need to finish in the next 2 days to give to my niece for Christmas. When she stayed with us this summer I was doodling out a pink heart quilt (this is not it) and she asked me what it was. When I told her it was a quilt she asked me who it was for. She asked me a couple of months later if I had her quilt made yet. So . . . this will be her pink quilt. I am putting white sashing between the blocks and heart appliques in some of the corner squares. They will be randomly placed on the quilt.

Take care and God Bless.

Metamorphisis Monday

Today I am joining Metamorphosis Monday sponsored by Susan at Between Naps on the Porch.

I wanted to show you how I took a tree branch that looked like this

can turn into something that looks like this. . .

I just spray painted the tree with white spray paint. Then I strung one string of white & clear snowflakes lights. Added a few snowflakes and had a tree for my daughter's room.

Unfortunately, my daughter has blue walls in her room with lots of pictures so this lit picture did not turn out very well. Then when I moved it to another room there was not enough light and I ended up with this  . . .

Maybe this will be a chance to show Mr. Paramedic that I need a new, more expensive camera. Hmmm, on the other hand, could it be the photographer? Probably. I think I'll stick with the one I have until I have time to learn how to use camera settings correctly.

Take care and God Bless.
